began the legacy which today is Reggie's Oil. Born in Quincy, MA in 1922, he was the first son of Italian immigrants who had arrived in this country 12 years earlier. The family operated this small variety store from their home which was well known at the time for the pizza, bread and pies which were baked fresh on the premises every day. The original home stead was located at 325-327 Water Street in South Quincy which is now the site of the Lincoln-Hancock School.
Mando graduated from Quincy High School in 1940 where he was a stand-out athlete playing on both the baseball and basketball teams. He also played on various town and regional baseball teams and was a member of the Wollaston Legion team which played the opening game on Adams Field in 1938. In 2002 Armando Reggiannini was inducted into the Quincy High School Baseball Hall of Fame.
Armando's career began in the 40's when he was employed by Quincy Coal & Oil. He worked as a serviceman doing furnace repairs and coal-to-oil furnace conversions. By the mid 50's he was supporting a family of five children and had started his own business which he called Reggie's Oil Burner Service. Armando's wife Kathleen, known by everyone as Kay, worked as the company book keeper for nearly 30 years.
Armando's first son Paul worked along side his father for several years assisting with burner repairs, and in 1965 started a separate oil delivery business by the name of Reggie's Oil. The next year, Paul expanded when he bought John Chiminello's oil delivery business which in effect doubled the number of customers he served.
Joe, Armando's third son, began to learn the trade from his father in 1970 and worked by his side for nearly a decade. In 1979, Joe purchased the delivery business from his brother Paul and merged it with his father's burner repair business. During that same year Joe purchased Villa's Oil and found himself with 600 customers to serve.
